Oct. 4 -- The monthly Main Street Morning informal merchants meeting will be held at Books on First with free coffee and donuts thanks to C&N Supply. Come and join the conversation at 7:30 a.m. as we share issues that may be affecting your business. A great way to network and get free advice from your fellow business owners.

Oct. 29 -- Monster Breakfast at the Post House Ballroom! Come and dine with costumed characters during our 2nd Annual Monster Breakfast from 7 a.m. - 10 a.m. Feast on pancakes, eggs and sausage by Mama Cimino's for just $4 for adults and $2 for kids, take a $1 off if you come in costume! Then walk down to Haymarket Square for the Noon Lion's Club annual Halloween Parade at 10 a.m.. And then following the parade, the Dixon YMCA will have games and activities for the kids at Haymarket Square. A great spook-tacular event!

Nov. 4 -- DMS and the Historic Dixon Theatre are teaming up again for their annual comedy show! This year, we are working the the iO Theatre out of Chicago to bring their famous and heralded musical comedy "Cupid Has A Heart On: A Musical Guide to Relationships" to the Dixon Theatre on Friday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. The Chicago Tribune says, "'Cupid' is full of wit and zest!" and it has been playing to sold out shows on the weekends at the iO Theatre in Chicago for 3 years! This fantastic comedy-musical is a sure comedy hit. Tickets are just $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Dec. 2 -- Dixon Main Street and the Dixon Chamber of Commerce are proud to present the annual Christmas Walk from 6-9 p.m. All of the traditional sights and sounds will be on display, including the tree lighting ceremony at KSB, the madrigal singers from DHS, cookie decorating and much more. Then come back downtown on Dec. 3 for Breakfast with Santa at the Post House Ballroom and the annual Dixon Municipal Band concert that evening at the Historic Dixon Theatre.


Help DMS, Help Dixon, Help Local Businesses -- And all you have to do is get a Dixon Money Saver Coupon Book for $5! Oct. 5 -- Students from Newman High School will be collecting food for the Dixon Food Pantry on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Have your donation out on your front porch by 8 a.m. or call 815-625-0500 x. 26 for details.
Oct. 8 -- The Dixon Sister Cities Association will host their annual "Kenya Come to Dixon's Irish Oktoberfest" event at the VFW Hall on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. There will be food, silent auction items, live music and much more.
Oct. 8 -- Second Saturdays Art Happenings throughout Downtown Dixon. Get the full scoop on all the art and music featured that night from 6-8 p.m. at www.second-saturdays.com
Oct 15 -- 5th Annual Save the Boobies Pub Crawl by First Street Pub. The crawl runs from 3-7 p.m. in downtown Dixon with proceeds going to support cancer research and local non-profit organizations that help those affected by cancer. For details, contact First Street Pub.
Oct. 16 -- KSB Hospital is having its Emergency Department/Surgery Open House from 1-4 p.m. The public is invited for tours and refreshments beginning with the opening ceremony at 1 p.m.
Oct. 22 -- The Dixon Lioness Fall Auction will be held at 6 p.m. at the VFW in Dixon. Proceeds will go to support the Lioness Club's efforts in the community.
