UPCOMING EVENTS -- Mini Golf, Business Competition and more!



DOWNTOWN DIXON OPEN MINI GOLF OUTING AND FESTIVAL presented by Sauk Valley Bank
Dixon Main Street & Riverfront is transforming the Riverfront into a unique and fun Mini-Golf Course as a festival to kick-off the summer season!
Join our first-ever Mini Golf Outing on May 30 12 p.m. lunch and 1 p.m. Shotgun start. Foursomes are just $200 and include lunch and more! A golf outing for everyone!
And then that evening and all day that Saturday, join the Festival Fun!
Admission to the festival is free. Cost to play is $5 for adults / Kids 8 and under are FREE.
Friday, May 30
6 p.m. - 11 p.m. — Course is open to the public. Live music
by the Downtown Rhythm Kings. Food vendors and the
19th Hole Beer & Wine Tent by the Crystal Cork.
Saturday, May 31
11 a.m.—11 p.m. — Course is open to the public. Live music including 30 West and more. Food vendors and the19th Hole Beer & Wine Tent by the Crystal Cork.

DIXON BUSINESS COMPETITION
Do you have a great business idea? Then consider registering for the Dixon Business Competition! The winning idea will receive $5,000 cash and free rent! SMALL BUSINESS BOOT CAMP
Five area organizations are teaming up to bring a series of educational opportunities to small businesses throughout the Sauk Valley.  Sterling and Dixon Main Streets have joined forces with the Sauk Valley Area, Rock Falls and Dixon Chambers of Commerce to create “Small Business Bootcamp.”  The first, of what is planned to be a series of events, will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Sauk Valley Community College.   Representatives from the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, Illinois Department of Revenue and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (regarding the Affordable Health Care Act) will be on hand for this “Ask the Expert” event, featuring a brief presentation from each organization followed by round table discussions where area small business owners will have the opportunity to ask specific questions as it relates to their business. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast, followed by the presentations, with the round table discussions beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m.  Advance registration is required, with a $5.00 fee. Registration forms are available from any of the 5 partnering organizations.

MAY 21 LUNCH AND LEARN
The next Dixon Main Street Lunch and Learn will feature the 50th Anniversary of the Petunia Festival.  The informational luncheon will focus on the planning and staging of the festival and some history of the festival, as well. The Lunch and Learn includes a $3 lunch as part of the program at the Post House Ballroom in downtown Dixon. Lunch is by Touch of Thai and the event is sponsored by Sauk Valley Media

MUSICAL FRIDAYS presented by Community State Bank
Musical Fridays every Friday from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. on the Riverfront. Join us for this free concert series!

RIVERFRONT FARMER’S MARKET presented by KSB Hospital
Farmer’s Market has moved to the Riverfront! Fridays from 10-2 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. and starting in July, Wednesdays from 7-12 p.m. Lots of great vendors throughout the season!

REAGAN RUN 5K
The annual Reagan Run 5K registration is open! Go to www.reaganrun.com for all the race details! Join the fun of the great event as a runner or walker. And don’t forget about the annual Kids Fun Run!
