Mud Volleyball Tournament June 20

Dixon Main Street is unveiling a new event for Dixon and the Sauk Valley area this summer. On June 20, Dixon will play host to an all-day Mud Volleyball Tournament. The action will take place at the Meadows field, at the horse trail parking lot off of Brinton Ave.

The event is a cooperative effort between Dixon Main Street and the Dixon Park District and will feature tournament play with each team being guaranteed at least two matches. Cost to have a co-ed team of six players is $120, with day of registration $150. Forms can be downloaded at

“Dixon Main Street is always looking for fun and exciting ways to bring people to our community,” Executive Director Josh Albrecht said. “Our Promotions Committee thought that a mud volleyball tournament was a great way to spend a summer day and to raise some money to support Main Street events like the Scarecrow Festival and Christmas Walk.”

This year’s event features music by 3D Sound, a pork chop cook out by the Dixon Park District and a beer garden. An age limit of 21 years-old will be enforced for play in the tournament, although those younger can come and watch the event. The tournament will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude when a champion is crowned.
