Soda Pop Tour comes to Dixon

Expand your taste buds and sample over 100 unique craft soda pops and
more as the world’s first traveling Soda Pop Tour rolls into the downtown Dixon
riverfront on Saturday, September 20, 2014.
The tour will showcase 100 flavors of sodas produced by many of the nations unique
craft soda manufacturers. Sodas
available will include specialties brands such as Green River, Jelly Belly,
Captain Eli, Goose Island and a variety
of flavors such as Grape, root beer, cream, orange, ginger, cherry and more!

and Plan Ahead Events, the festival is partnering with Dixon Main Street, “This
unique festival promises to be one of the best family events of the year,” says
Josh Albrecht, Director of Dixon Main Street.
Admission is FREE and soda samples will be available for
purchase. The Soda Pop Tour soda
tasting festival will run from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
There will be lots to see and do.
Bring the family. Bounce houses,
kid’s corner, great food, live music and delicious soda. All soda pops featured are all made with
natural sugars - no artificial
sweeteners!
The
Soda Pop Tour will also feature an entertainment stage featuring three shows by
The Way Down Wanderers: Midwest's Hottest New Alternative
Folk Act. Also local variety acts will
be performing all day.
Another great feature as
part of the event will be the Dixon Riverfront Dash Fun Run for adults and
kids. The Little Fizz Dash is a 1.5 mile run for 12 & under and the Big Pop
Dash is 2.5 miles. Both courses do a .5 mile circuit course around the
Riverfront, going over both bridges and starting and finishing near the Reagan
Statue on the Riverfront. Registration forms are available at Dixon Main Street,

Race time is 4 p.m. with day-of registration starting at 2 p.m. Cost is $10/$15
day of for kids, $15/$20 day of for adults. Every racer will receive soda
tasting tickets to sample the great sodas at the event. Top finishers will
receive prizes and there will be a finish line clock.
