Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

FOUNDERS DAY
The annual Founders Day celebration in Dixon is coming up on April 11. The committee is meeting to come up with a great historical program on some of Dixon's early residents. We will also be handing out the Langan Award for Excellence in Local History and the McAlpine Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation. The event will take place at the Dixon Historic Center. More details to come soon.

Two Classic Rock Music Legends To Play Historic Dixon Theatre on Saturday, March 23

Grammy nominated John Ford Coley (formerly of England Dan and John Ford Coley) and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Terry Sylvester (formerly of The Hollies) will be taking the stage together for a unique acoustic concert experience at 7:30 p.m. on March 23 at the Historic Dixon Theatre.

The Classic Rock legends will be playing many of the songs that made them famous years ago with their previous bands. For Coley, it was songs like "I'd really love to see you tonight," "It's sad to belong," and "Love is the answer."

And for Sylvester, it was "Long cool woman in a black dress," "The air that I breathe," and "Carrie Ann." The concert will feature "songs from the Hollies & Swinging Blue Jeans hits, plus songs and stories from his early days at the Cavern Club, where he appeared with the Beatles & the rest of the great groups from that wonderful era."

"We're very excited to have two Classic Rock icons coming to the Dixon Theatre," Josh Albrecht, executive director of Dixon Main Street said. "The uniqueness of the acoustic concert will definitely make it a special experience."

The Live & Acoustic show will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Dixon Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance at Venier Jewelers, Dixon Senior Center, online at www.dixontheatre.com and by phone at 815-288-2308. Tickets are $18 at the door. Tickets go on on sale Friday, Feb. 15.
